Excellent article, thank you. I do wonder what if any impact the lowering on trainging standards will play in lawsuits particularly against the training agencies. I can only assume that the lawsuits involving PADI (only because the certifiy 70+ percent of new divers) have increased over the years. While the training standards seem to get lower and lower.
I do have a friend who attended a dive center and found the standards to be here and there, that is too say depending on the center and the instructor levels of expectation and requirements are always different.
My friend refuses to conduct the PADI scuba diver program, which is only 3 modules and 2 dives. Saying that the program is tantamount to a give away certification.
He has since gone to work for a new company and is working as a Dive Instructor there.
I was hoping to find more information on how training agencies seem to hide behind the liability waiver and if you feel that in the future, the teeth will be pulled from this defense.
Again thank you for a great article
